They say all roads lead to Roma - they probably do - But... this is the route WE took today: we let San Gimagnano this a.m. via bus to Poggibonsi, then switched to a train to Siena. Then we took a bus (because the train does not run on Saturday) to Chiusi Chiancianotermeò then a train to Roma. From the Central train station in Rome, we tood the train to the airport, then a taxi to Oasti - where we have booked a room tonight and tomorrow night. We decided to stay here because on Monday we have to catch a 6:30 a.m. flight, which means being at the airport at 4:30!! And the airport is a LONG way from central Roma.
Bob and I are putting tobether our separate Observations List. So be sure to watch for that.
This may be the last time I get a chance to enter on the blog until we are safely on U.S. soil. This has been an unforgetable experience - it is all good!
Tomorrow is our last day and we will spend it on a whirlwind visit to Roma, then home again - where there is not place like.....
Mom: tomorrow we are going to church - at the Vatican!
The pic is from our balcony, overlooking the Ocean. There is a beautiful storm coming in, so the surf is up!
Looking forward to coming home and seeing everyone!
Ciao and arriverdercii, ss
